Charcoal, paper, MDF board, acrylic paint

This work is about seductive movement and its violent interruption. Fathomless blacks sink into swirling gray eddies only to be cut off by sharp white forms. There is allure and hypnotic beauty as well as severe control and violence. Understanding the space of these forms remains elusive, however the viewer may find satisfaction in the material richness, the frenzied whirls and severe bounds, and the presence of the three dimensional pieces in space. Both pictoral space and three dimensional form guide the viewer on a swirling path so they find that they are tracing eddies themselves.
